AOEC Membership
AOEC offers three levels of membership: Clinic, Associate and Individual.
Clinic members are accepted into the organization only if they meet specific criteria, and the application process can be rather lengthy. Clinic applications are reviewed by our membership committee and if found qualified, clinics are elected to membership by the Board of Directors. Involvement of additional clinics is integral in the enhancement of AOECs mission and strengthens the level of support we can provide for each other. AOEC clinic members have the opportunity to participate in the shared databases and to compete for awards to conduct collaborative research and develop new educational materials. The AOEC office receives calls on a daily basis from prospective clients and health agencies. The AOEC policy is to direct such referral calls only to AOEC member clinics. AOEC clinic directories are provided to a number of government agencies including the NIOSH toll free hotline, ATSDR Emergency Response line, OSHA, EEOC, and others as requested. AOEC clinics are also listed as a resource in the ATSDR Case Studies. Clinic members elect five of the nine members of the Board of Directors.
Clinic dues are $550.00 annually. Payment of dues is not necessary until the clinic has been formally accepted by the Board of Directors. Please request an application from this e-mail address and specify preferred format (hard copy and/or diskette in WP, MS Word or ASCII).
AOEC Clinics have long provided a multidisciplinary, patient-centered, prevention oriented, public health approach to care, including adherence to the AOEC Patient Bill of Rights. The AOEC recognizes that many occupational clinics which practice and adhere to the high ethical standards of the organization are nonetheless ineligible for Clinic membership because they are unable to accept patients without regard to referral source or source of payment. Associate membership allows those clinics to become a part of the AOEC clinic network. Associate members must meet a criteria similar to Clinic members. AOEC Associate members have the opportunity to participate in the shared databases and to compete for awards to conduct collaborative research and develop new educational materials.
Associate member dues are $350.00 annually. Payment of dues is not necessary until the Associate clinic has been formally accepted by the Board of Directors. Please request an application from this e-mail address and specify preferred format (hard copy and/or diskette in WP, MS Word or ASCII).
Individual membership is open to any person who shares the goals of AOEC. Dues are $100.00 per year (with a $75 tier for retirees and a $50 tier for persons in full time training programs) and are payable at the time of application. Dues are for the current calendar year. Those people joining in the last quarter of the calendar year are enrolled immediately but credited for the next year. Individual members may participate in all AOEC meetings and conferences and may serve on the Board of Directors. Individual members elect four members of the Board of Directors. We also have a number of committees which would benefit from your participation including Membership, Grants and Contracts, Outreach, Nomination, Quality Assurance, Data Base, and Internal Communication. Individual members are also provided with an AOEC Directory listing member clinics and lending library holdings.
